Somebody brought this cutaway engine to the Reno Air Races.

Just thought you might like to see what a air cooled, radial motor looks like from the inside.

The front of the motor is to the right, where the propellor connects.

The aft section, blue part, is the blower, 2 stages.

The black device on the top is the carburator.

If anyone knows more about these motors, please add whatever you'd like.

Broadly similar to a Harley Davidson, just more of it. Common crankpin design...and dates to about the same era.

....Miami University in Oxford Ohio had one when I was in college there....wonder what they did with it....probably surplused it out.....would even turn over slowly so you could see the ralationship between the parts......neeto! as we used to say.....geofkaye
