Default School bus conversion

I have been thinking of buying a class A RV, strip it to the chassis then put a mid 50's GMC or Chevy bus on the chassis. Within a 100 mile radius of me on Craig'slist I have found numerous RV's under $5000 with low mileage, everything working, in great shape [ so they say]. I have help with all the body swapping and can do all interior myself. I realize it's a LOT of work, but no more than what I see here.
Thanks for any feed back

I like that idea, I'd love to do a 350 hp Class A pusher chassis under a F150 4 door cab with a Ford Raptor front clip. then build a low profile conversion body like the RumRunner only longer.

But its just a dream, unless I find a buyer for the Rumrunner, then its Game on again!!

This project is sitting on a 1999 F53 Ford chassis with the V-10 engine. It came from a 35" Damon Intruder motor home.

Thanks for sending that. That's a looong hood for a truck of that era, will surely get some looks.
What's planned for the 'bed'?
Thanks again
Dave

The Jonny Cash special AKA Mater started out life as a 1936 Dodge 1-1/2ton. I can't find the pics I have with the hood still on it. Someone put a Diamond T cab on it. We think it was a government truck when new and didn't have a cab at all. Now it sits on the F53 chassis with a fabricated hood. The original Dodge side curtains will fit in the openings on the side. The bed in the first picture is all framed up. I need to install oak flooring and it will have sheet metal sides even with the bottom of the toolboxes.
