Hi all,

Thanks for the add.......you can guess how this starts......I did not think I was going to win the auction (govdeals).....famous last words. this makes the second time I have said this about that site!

So My brother and I have decided we are going to build out a heavy rescue/hazmat fire truck. it is a 2000 E-one unit. no Pump or water tanks to deal with removing. Going to pick it up on Friday.

That looks like an amazing project! Congrats on winning the auction ;)

What engine transmission? Any clue regarding the rear end? I'm suspecting you'll want to do something about the final drive ratio as it wouldn't surprise me that thing is optimized for city streets vs highway speeds. Then once you know the gear ratio, shopping for gears may well be step one (before forking over treasure and time to convert it only to subsequently discover 6mpg at 50mph is best she'll do). Suspect the engine will be happy enough with taller gears because I also suspect it's cammed to deliver massive amounts of torque to handle massive amounts of weight (in the form of water or fire suppressant, pump, hose, and crew of four). Any more photos, yet?
