Hi, I have, I think, looked all over the net to find some instructions/diagrams on a Liftco slide out in our 2005 coachmen mirada 340mbs. I have even contacted Liftco without success.
I have had to remove the slide room to do some work on some water damage.

I thought while removing everything that I documented everything, my usual mo.
Reinstalling was going well until I had to bolt down the Tbolt with the two shoulder bolts.
My question is, why do I have two different length bolts, an, why don't the bolts actually hold down the Tbolt to the mounting plate.
It is near impossible here in Australia to get anyone to look at the slide, so I've hade to dig.
Thanks in advance.

Hey mate,

Been there, done that — those Liftco slide mechanisms can be a real puzzle, especially when you're halfway across the world from anyone who knows how they work. I’ve wrestled with a similar setup on a 2004 Mirada, so I’ll try to help based on what you’ve said.

So yeah, the two different-length shoulder bolts are actually normal — sounds weird, but one’s usually designed to go through a thicker part of the bracket or frame, while the other bites into a shallower section. If you reverse them, the shorter one won’t grab enough thread, and the longer one might bottom out on the shoulder before clamping anything.

Now, for the T-bolt not being held down properly — that usually means one of a few things:
  • It’s not sitting flush in the channel or bracket. Easy to miss if it’s even a few mm out.
  • You might be missing a washer or spacer that used to go under the shoulder bolts — Liftco used to use those on some models to get the clamp tension right.
  • Or worst case, the shoulder bolts are tightening against their shoulders, not the T-bolt, meaning they’re not actually clamping anything down. You can check that by adding a washer or two and seeing if it suddenly "grabs" the T-bolt properly.
Liftco systems have a few sneaky pieces that can fall off when removing the room — I lost a shim once and it threw everything out of alignment.
If you can post a photo of your current setup or bolt locations, someone here might be able to ID exactly where each bolt should go.

Hope that helps

Alan
