You should be able to put a cross-over tube...
You should be able to put a cross-over tube between the tanks, but keep it high so that you get extra capacity only when the gray tank gets close to filling. Also, more liquid and less solid waste...

Gil, there are no 12 speed Allisons
The Meritor 12 Speed Freedom Trans is great, you will love it- especially in the mountains.
On flat land and no trailer, the Allison is very nice.
