Voltage regulator?
Can't you put a voltage regulator or protector of some kind in the line coming off the generator to prevent an "over voltage" situation from killing everything if this happens again?

When a roof cover is made with aluminum sheet, is it made from one continuous length of sheet so there are no seams? How is it secured (i.e. adhesive, screws)?

Perfect workshop!
Man, that is the perfect sized buildign for a workshop, especially for building a custom rig! Put in a bathroom and a small kitchen and you'd never have to leave :-)
