That's great that you are thinking about a truck conversion. I'm firmly convinced that they make a great platform for a motor home. Have you checked out the HDT forum on Escapees? Those guys mostly use semi tractrs to pull their 5th wheel trailers. Then they build a deck on the truck to haul a car or motorcycles. There is one member there, 1Rod, that is also a travelling nurse living in his camper trailer. He's got a very cool setup. He put a box on the deck of his truck and he puts his Mini Cooper in that and pulls a large 5th wheel. His 5th wheel even has a garage in back and he puts his Gold Wing in there. They have a rally every Oct., www dot hdtrally dot com I've gone the last two years and likely will go this year. Not 100% sure yet tho.
