I am looking for specs on a 2000 Volvo VED 12 425hp in a Volvo 660. I am trying to figure out If I can take it to a Volvo dealer and have the ECM reflashed for more HP and TQ. Anybody have any thoughts?? I also need to have a dealer reset the password and take the speed limiters off and change some of the perameters for the cruise control. I don't know that I would boost HP and TQ even if I could. My last trip to the mountains I averaged 8.1 mpg towing 5th wheel and Jeep all up weight about 42000 lbs. On the way there we had 45 to 50 mph head winds. I left the cruise set at 62 mph (100 kph)and it just chugged along at 1425 rpm.I asked this question on Escapees, but then the huricane hit and the forum went down.

I have a 425 in one of my 770's and a 460 in the other. There are hardware changes from the lower hp motors to these, i.e the 350 and 375, but these might be just a reflash of the computer. Good luck in finding a Volvo dealer to change some parameters for you. I went to 2 dealers here in the twin cities (mn) and neither one wanted to do it. (If it ain't broke -----).

Dave (old phone man) has a guy in Oregon, who does great things with reflashing, not sure what part of the country you are in.
