Curious if you have had any issues with lines freezing up with your on-demand method?

We too winter camp in ski resort parking lots & at trail heads but I just leave the water tank heater on. It uses very little propane and I have had no issues with lines freezing.

Its still in a box in my garage, so I cant say yet. It does have built in freeze protection. So I think it will kick itself on if it gets too cold. I have never used the water in our current rig.

black glass is cheap - not that you'll need it anyway.

I was hoping to sell it, oh well! It's done now.

bushpilot 01-07-2017 07:37 PM

new glass is 150 bucks - used is even less, you didn't break the bank.

I know, but even $50 is nice. I was sooo close! Oh well. I made good progress today even wasting a couple hours carefully taking the glass out

Got the window infill panels done. Used the cutout from the box! Has a rib on either piece, makes a nice stiff panel.

Sort of, the rear bench was a 60/40, I will use the 40 part of the passenger side. Ill make a flat floor panel on the drivers side.

I need to figure out some sort of jump seat or drivers side rear option, usually its just three of us, but sometimes we take a friend. There is no mounting provision in the center for doing buckets. the rear seats where bolted together. and two of the three mounts are on the passenger side.

Scored a roll of tinned 2/0 on CL! Looks like I have my main start to house wire figured out.

Long list before insulation.... Got a little more done last night.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/734/31...88bca945_b.jpg

Reinforced the large window. It was a little floppy, and I didn't wan the spray foam to hold it crooked. Used a piece of oak there.

ist, done. Way more of a thrash than I was expecting. All the little stuff adds up...

All the furring s done, all the wires wrapped, taped, glued in place.

All the tools that were in the truck are now in a pile.... in the garage.... I need to do some cleaning!! A 4800W heater heats this truck quite nice with no windows or insulation! (:D)

Now a Question: Has anyone seen or extended themselves the exhaust/intake for a furnace? They all are designed for 2" wall thickness. Ideally I would install it in a spot that I need ~12" from exterior to heater.

I realize this is far longer than the OE designed, and exhaust temps need to stay up for proper flow, but it would be great to be able to do this..... Welding a stainless extension on is no issue.

No, I paid a pro this time. I have used the DIY kits in the past. They are not as good.... They really need to be heated, the second time we used it we got an old cooler, put both tanks in it and filled it with almost boiling water. This help a ton, but its still a bitch. It doesn't seem to rise/expand as well. Temp I think has a lot to do with that.

This was ~1400 board feet, which is more than their big kit (which does NOT produce as much as they claim). Having the pro's do it (and grind!) cost me $360 more than the kit. It was their min charge at $1800

Here it is ground down.
