Anyone familar with the federal bridge law regarding maximum weight per axel? I am dealing with this now. I want to build a 34' coach on a columbia chassis, with 10' garage and 24' living. I have figured with a full load of toys I will exceed the 20,000 max rating, even though the axel is rated for 23,000, which I would not exceed. If I decided to tow a trailer I could easily exceed the 20,000. I am wondering how many rigs might be in violation? If using a toll road they will weigh you before entering and not allow access.

I wouldn't want to be the guy that broke the bridge. Pay a few bucks and hit the Cat scales and find out what it weighs and then avoid bridges you are overweight for.
