Here's some progress pic's I hope ! I built the dropped rear subframe, shortened my box, built new door frame, & mounted the ramp door. Long way to go !

Looks nice! What are the dimensions and how much weight do you want the rear portion to hold?

The box is now 21' long, 8.5' wide, 8' tall in front. I'm building it with the intentions of hauling 2 drag bikes and a scooter, so approx 1200 lbs. when not pulling a trailer. I also built it with the intention of pulling my Drag car when it's back together and my boat. I plan on pulling with a weight distributing hitch.. The picture has the hitch appearing lower than it is due to the dual pitch of my driveway. Bottom of the hitch tube is 13" off the ground when level. This is still low, but it's what I wanted for the dragbikes, as they are 2" ground clearance.

looks great... is ground clearance going to be an issue? tough to tell from the angle...

Ground clearance should not be an issue. I took some measurements off of RV's that had a longer rear overhang with the same bumper / hitch height that were pulling big race trailers, so I should be better off than they are. I do plan on putting rollers under the rear crossmember / bumper though.

I'm looking into this type of modification. What would be the maximum tow rating for a hitch attached to something like this? I'd love the additional room but am concerned about the 12-14k of a trailer full of jeeps.

Thanks. It looks great
