Chariot

Anybody else catch the announcement that Gold Rush Trailers bought Chariot in Elkhart. Head office now in Pennsylvania.
Nice unit, toured the place twice a couple years ago. Good luck.

No but Chariot always had my interest.....

So...I bought a 2007 Chariot. It seems that Gold Rush only bought it for the name; as far as I can tell, they don't offer any support.

Any recommendations where to get support? I'm in NW Indiana and I've got several issues to address.

I think it might depend on what exactly you need. If it's structural I'd try contacting Showhauler, NRC, Hawk Engineering, or Renegade/Kibbi. Those are all Truck Conversion builders. If it's interior or systems related I would think any r/v service place could help you. Congratulations on your purchase. Chariot made very high quality coaches.

Thanks for the suggestions, Bob.

I wish I just had an owner's manual for it. I'd like to know how all of the systems work - electrical schematics and plumbing diagrams would be wonderful.

For now, I'm digging my way through the Hydro-Hot. One of the Magnum ME2812 inverters has blown FETs. And it's too cold for me to test the plumbing.

I found a shop to work on it but it doesn't feel at all like taking my Airstream back to the factory.

Contact Dan Jourdan at Royal Phoenix Inc. in Elkhart. He has helped me with some repair on my Chariot. PM me with some of your other questions.

Thanks, duster340! I worked through most of the problems but it's great to have a reliable resource for future issues.

So far...
1. I replaced the inverter.
2. I replaced the plumbing manifold.
3. I replaced the ice-damaged refrigerator, dishwasher, and heater valves.

4. I gained a decent understanding of the plumbing.
5. I screwed trim on a slideout that was shifting.
6. I bought hitches from Renegade.
7. I replaced all of the entertainment A/V equipment with a Bluetooth receiver.
8. I replaced all of the interior and cargo lighting with LEDs.
9. I replaced the broken interior step handrail with a modern (LED) version.
10. I removed the exterior electric grill.
11. I replaced the HydroHot burner and control board. (Yeesh!)
12. I adjusted the power awning.
13. I replaced a couple of the cargo door latches (which are no longer available).

It's been a journey...

I have had good and bad luck with items you've repaired and upgraded. Some of those issues were operator error and other's manufacturer workmanship of an appliance or just age. There aren't really any owners manuals other than those provided by vendors. A few specs or description of some systems are explained by Chariot. I think they assumed most owners would have previous experience with RVs or just tell a shop "just fix it". Help from the factory when it existed was great. I got some help from Gold Rush at first, but they don't return my calls now. I, like you, would like to get some of the design or one-line drawings. I was told, not by Chariot, manufacturers didn't provide much because of design secrets. We live in such a patent world.
