South Florida campground also the keys

Looking for recommendations for a south Florida trip in April. Looking at staying at okeechobe koa and looking for a good place in the keys. Just taking our motorhome and jeep toad.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Eric!

Bluewater Key RV Resort. Absolutely beautiful spot. Make time to dine at the Square Grouper while you are down there.

we just spent a month at Crooked Hook HWY 27 Clewiston FL. 3 year for Clewiston, 2nd year at Crooked hook. First year was at Roland Martin Marine, We are 42' Classic, there are a lot of rv parks all over the place, Moore Haven, Lake Port are a few.
If you any more information let me know.
Sam

We are looking to stay at the koa at okeechobe for a couple days then head towards the keys, want to see south beach at Miami. Maybe stay a couple days at the keys then head up the gulf coast of Florida. Any ideas?

Bluewater key is amazing! I don't know if we can afford to stay there? Is it pricey?

It is spendy, but worth it. IMHO

I was looking it up on google maps, and on the satellite view there is a green cab truck conversion set up camping there! Lol! It looks nice but it's out of budget, we are looking to spend less and go camping more! Lol!

Re: Keys Camping

Fiesta Key, mm70, Beautiful place, just make sure you camp on the west side of the park, the east is pretty tight

A couple of years ago we stayed at Venture Out on Cudjoe Key. 22 miles from Key West. Nice place. It was hit very hard by the hurricane, so make sure you call to ensure they have open spots. Neighbors were nice.

If Blue Water is the place I'm thinking about, they likely have a Class A motorhome, 10 year age limit. Call them or check their website.

This year we spent ten days at Julio's on Key Largo @ MM 100. Nice guy, interesting place, we were 30' from the Atlantic Ocean. Not fancy. Has full hookups. Neighbors and other RVers were all nice people. Call Julio Perez at 305-525-6740.

I'm thinking about staying at Miami Everglades rv resort. I like where it's close to the Everglades and we can drive down to the keys. Anybody ever stayed at this place?

141 miles (each way) from Miami Everglades RV Resort (to key west)....more than I would want to travel if I were really going w/ the purpose of staying in the "keys" ....

I mean are you going to the Everglades or the Keys?

We are taking our boys (15yr old twins) and I think one day in the keys will be enough for them. They are always on the go and I think they will get bored fast in the keys. Myself I could spend a few days bar hopping and hanging out with the locals, but that's not happening this trip! Lol! Maybe me and the wife will take a trip down there without the boys one day.
My boys are out of school for spring break, so not a lot of time. They want to ride airboats, go to south beach, go to the keys, rent jet skis, and do some kayaking, and maybe go to Miami zoo or aquarium. Then we may go up the west coast of Florida for a day or two.
Not a lot of relaxing time! Lol!
