Does anyone know the height of the vehicle which rides over the cockpit portion of the car carrier type truck?

Here is an example of what I'm talking about: http://carfreight.net/images_c...er_frtlnr%5B1%5D.jpg

Is the maximum height 13'6" in most states and does this type of load exceed that height?

I used to manage an autohaul new car delivery fleet for a major carrier. The drivers have to keep it under 13'6" to get down the highway safely. The vehicles of course are chained to the truck, and using hydraulics and ratchets they work long and hard to make them so. It takes at least 1.5 to 2 hours to get all 8 or 9 vehicles on the rig and secure, and usually Longer.

When I was first starting, I took a call from a driver who was just involved in an accident, turns out the chains failed and the Impala he had up over the cab had caught an overpass. Turned it into a 4 door convertible in about 3 seconds.
