a new canadian member with motor swap questions

I am a new member from Alberta Canada building a motorhome from a 1998 Freightliner. my truck has a blown up m11 cummins and I would like to convert to an old school 350 cummins. Does a recreational vehicle require a cvip and are there regulations which would not allow me to make the swap?

Welcome!! The first thing that comes to mind is do you need to have your older truck emissions checked? If the answer is no, then I would not hesitate to do that swap. The old NTC350 is a great engine. I drove a semi with one and a 13 speed that pulled 122,000 pounds over a 3 mile long 6% with no problem and it was stock.

no emission checks needed so the conversion will be done. No computer or electronics to fail in an ntc350. Now all I need is a few hundred hours to build a motorhome
