Hi Can anone tell me what the weight of the common MDT are? eg FL60 or FL70 and FL80 and International 4700. close to actual empty weight would be good as i know with diferent axles and engine combos they will change.

My FL60 w/24' box title says 15k lbs empty. It was taken from the previous title, so I am not sure of its accuracy.

That sounds too heavy to me, Doc. I dunno tho. My truck weighs 25k with empty water tanks. Seems like the conversion and the heavier truck of mine should weigh more than 10k?

my GMC 6500 weighed 12460 Cab and Chassis ft 5860 rear 3100

stretched as a flatbed looking truck before I added the box and interior, ft 6320 rear 6140

finished full of fuel, 75 gallons, ft 7420 rear 12220

ran it across a closed DOT scale house the other day, ft 7760, rear 12220

22' box 35 gallons fresh water, 75 gallons fuel located behind rear axle.

Hay Todd, do you think I might have gotten a bad scale or something? Mine weighed 14k on the rears with empty water tanks. It seems like mine should be more than 2k heavier than yours on the rears, shouldn't it?

I'd think that might be ballpark close, your fuel tanks and genny are towards the front, mine are all the wat to the back, but for the $10.00 at the truck stop CAT scale will weigh front/rear and give you a total all in one shot.

WEIGHT IT BEFORE AND AFTER AND KEEP THE WEIGHT SLIPS WITH YOU......GET A WEIGHT SLIP THAT IS CERTIFIED.....sometimes the weight cops get a erection and have to define their territory.....also get some pix of what you are talking about....be ready to call the state cops if they get freaky...or are overdosing on stupid pills-as it were....REMEMBER THE GUYS IN THE CHICKEN COOPS ARE NOT COPS THEY ARE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION EMPLOYEES. ....just keep up with the milk bottles and the rockin' DOC....I have a 11 month old here that has the best set of lungs since Pavarotti....and his is just a loaner till I can get a place for his mom and her girlfriend a place to squat....his volume is better than than the air horns on the Volvo....at least 130 db...poops about 10 diapers a day.....I KNOW HOW YOU MUST FEEL!
