Another organizational tip

Since we've been talking about tricks to organize the interior thought I'd show you guys this. I think I mentioned it awhile ago to Don but forgot to get back with a picture. We always like to take our shoes off when we get in. I bought two of these things at Walmart and screwed them to the wood at the top of the stairs. Works great to keep shoes and other stuff. And they were cheap. Something like $5-7 bucks each? Now lets see if I can get the picture to work since I found it stored somewhere else on my computer.

Works good for keeping flashlights and fly swatter handy too, and dog leashes.

I SO wish our steps had storage under them !

heres something i did - put shelves in the basement storage....helps to prevent PILING things on top of each other.

I also replace all the incandescent 12v bulbs w/ LED strips...much better lighting coverage, top and bottom shelf coverage (w/ sep. strips of LED).

the center board is a removable support...held in by tension, a light tap of the heal of your hand and it falls away. Its helpful to keep the top shelf from bowing or sagging if i put too much crap on it (which i do).

this shelf is a bit more shallow - so i can get my leveler (big foot) boards in & our grill.

i also mounted some broom holders under the board - so i can mount my wash brush (telescoping pole) and a squeegee on a stick....means i can wash the coach anywhere & just squeegee the water off/dry.

My steps are open underneath. But I don't put any shoes under them. When we open the door to go in I prefer to trot on up the steps so we can get the door shut quick. Too many bugs in MN. And, if I had to bend over and pull the shoes out from under there before opening the door I'd fall over and get stuck down in the stairway. I keep other junk under there though.

I do like the idea of putting some shelves in the storage bays. I have one bay filled with tools. The various tool boxes fit in there pretty good. but the other ones could use some shelves.

i keep saying im gonna put the tool box on some slides like i did the cooler.
Electric Cooler was one of our best all time mods...never buy ice again.

My steps are solid too, and yes I would fall over the junk too. I have a bunch of LED strips and was going to mount them in the storage areas too. I don't like the one light deal either. So how did you mount them?

The strips of LEDs that I had were on rigid PCBs and the slid in a channel - I used some 3M body side molding (double sided) tape.

I didn't even rewire - I just used the existing (single bulb) switch and tapped it - I like to be able to return things to OEM if I have too.

If I did it now I'd probably use waterproof / flexible SMDs and I might even use color changing - like I did under the awning (24 bucks).
