.....iF you want to get the feel of a cab over get a ride on a fire truck made by Seagrave....the town I live in just got theirs and I got a chance to ride/drive....in alleys they are a charm as they kinda go sideways to some extent which makes for easy tracking and parked car avoidance-if the front end gets through-the back end is sure to follow in the same track....kinda easy in tight spots which is alot of advantage as this town in some parts is modeled after an English villiage and the streets aren't very wide with parking on one side or both in some cases......geofkaye

under general discussion Re conventional vs COE, and when I brought up Europe (Im from Austria) I stirred up some quuite interesting comments.
Did not know they had old roman roads in .. shall I assume.. Scottland? https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_wink.gif
Hey you know I was teasing you with the petrol and kerb weight.

Yea, i think it would be cool to bring one of the standard US conversions over to Europe, you would be talk of the town, pics in all the newspapers.... https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_cool.gif

Hi Mike
welcome to the board https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_wink.gif where are you from?

Walter
im originaly from switzerland and i can tell you that i sometimes daydream about doing a trip to europe just for the fun of it .
picture our Pete at 75 mph (120kmh...the legal speed limit here in AZ) in the passing line.... https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...on_biggrin.gif
it gets even better; i also dream about bringing one of our street legal dune/desert buggies we build here with me...something like this one: https://sandcentral.net/v8rail/pics/a...t028%20022.jpg
(T-Rex; twin turbo 521cid BBF)
i bet they would chase me down (if they can catch me https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...on_biggrin.gif ) and lock me up at gunpoint.... https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...n_rolleyes.gif
and there would be pics in all the newspapers https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_razz.gif

...maybe better if it stays just a dream https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...icon_smile.gif

I still remember the time when I passed a Gendarmerie (Sherif) on the Autobahn in Austria with his lights and siren on. But then again at that time cops still used VW beetle and passat and i drove a BLMC Rover, and there was no law yet against dusting a cop. lol Bet time has changed...

Just make sure when you pull your Pete in the fast lane to use your turn signal, drivers might not see you otherwise https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...on_biggrin.gif

GREAT looking conversion. The quality of your fabrication work is really top shelf, and quite innovative....let us know how the air suspended box works out!! Keep those pix coming!

thanks Travis https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...icon_smile.gif

the work on the Pete is going slow https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...icon_frown.gif (lots of other work)
at least got the granit glued down (floating on a thick bed of silicon https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_wink.gif)
https://sandcentral.net/trucks/albums...l_DSCF2943.jpg
its a highly polished dark greenish-black granit with silver flakes in it
https://sandcentral.net/trucks/albums...l_DSCF2939.jpg
a friend of us did the granit work; he made a large radius bullnose for safety https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_wink.gif

the steel supports will be covered with wood that will match the cabinets.

Cool pics. I bet its nice if you can add all the granite you want without worrying about weight.

they are Freightshaker rims, thats why i call them ugly https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo.../icon_razz.gif https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...on_biggrin.gif
where are you located?
the tire and rims start to pile up in our shop;
they are all 22.5 and "hub pilot" style (flat washer lug nuts)
i have 4 inside + 4 outside "sawblade" rears (need a polish)
2 "roundhole" fronts, 2 outside "roundhole" rears and 2 inside steel rims
i also have 4 goodyear fronts and 4-8 bridgestone lopro rears (almost brand new and perfect)

I can't get the links to work. Is this truck done? Anyone know where the pictures are?

Thanks!

Too old of a thread. I'm sure wherever he was hosting those is no longer hosting them. I wonder what happens to people on some of these old threads.

I wonder what happened to the old truck!
