some progress on a new EPDM room. I screwed down 1/2" OSB over the original transparent roof and then glued down the EPDM. Installed my MaxFan's , full power and 10 speed, reversable with remote, they are awesome! Expensive but awesome. Can't wait to use them. Anyways, following the instructions it says to use adhesive or butyl tape under the trim ring before you screw it down. Me doing everything the Tim Taylor method, if a little is good, a lot is better, I coated the bottom flange real nice with Dicor non leveling Lap Sealant for roofs, screwed down the flange so the sealant ooses out. Then wiped it nice all the way around. Turns out that is a big no no! using thick amounts of this causes Petrolium distillate, I think I said that right. Anyways gasses come out and cause the EPDM to bubble :( any ways. I had to pull the rubber up around the opening, reglue, use butyl under the flange and then just caulk the seam. This worked well, just wish I would have done it the first time.... What a mess

one thing i keep thinking about adding to our coach - is a toe kick/baseboard vacuum...
I can't say I'm too keen on the hose for the central vac (storage and general sub-par when it comes to cleaning carpet)....but it would be nice to be able to sweep the floor and just sweep it to a baseboard vac.

Yes thanks. Hadn't thought about the vacuum toe kick but the wheels are turning!

I decided to replace the corners of the box now before the new roof went on. I was pleasantly surprised that the Morgan Company sells these and even in kit form, plastic corners, rivets and adhesive with detailed instructions. The stainless that is on the perimeter of the box was all custom made as everything else seems to need to be on the camper. I only had access to a 5' brake so I have more seems in it than I would like but turned out pretty good. The picture of all the screw heads in front were all caulked over after the picture was taken! Going to road test it this weekend and then leave in 2 weeks for family trip to Florida. Still a few more things to do before our trip but happy with the progress.

Eventually I want to cut the entire back wall out of the truck sleeper but I am not ready to put the motorized upper bunk in yet so I needed to keep the flip down one for a little longer. With that said I cut a large enough hole to go back and forth between the sleeper and the camper. I plan to remove the lower platform as well. I didn't want to buy the accordion boot twice as that stuff silly expensive for what it is so I made my own out of the leftover rubber roof material I had. I folded the rubber up so it was three layers thick and screwed it to both outer walls with a piece of one by cover it. Will work for this season and didn't cost anything:)

Wanted to get a couple of pictures of my living room slide in here. It has been a labor of love but should be functional. I want to purchase a different couch as I want one that I can build into the floor so it doesn't sit up so high and I want a slightly shorter one so I can make the dinette longer. Also will build that one into the floor so there is no step and I want to have the dinette U shaped rather than just the standard one that is in there now.

Awesome write up. How was the frame extension done? Did you just have a piece welded in or was the frame doubled up at the welds? Thanks for all the info and pictures.

Thank you. So far so good with the frame. I owe the forum an update and will do so shortly. The frame was butt welded on a 45 where it was butted together and then has a diamond shape piece of material welded to the outside covering the seam and I sleeved the inside with another piece of channel that goes 3ft in front and back of the weld. This piece is bolted in. If I could do it again I would have just bought new frame and double framed the hole thing. I have no problems with it this way, but cost wise it was only about 2k less than new complete double frame. Also having a strong box u bolted to the frame adds a lot of strength.
