This looks like it can tow!

This looks like it can tow! About 10 years old and needs some tires but I've always liked this style of conversion. |
That's a good find. I'll be interesting to see if it reaches the reserve and sells.

man thats a bunch of miles...and no mention of an In Frame so that should be factored into the cost.
There are five active fault codes (128s004, 128s003, 128s010, 128s009, 136s004).... Per seller - the fault codes are due to the RV conversion. I have a conversion...I don't have any fault codes...why would a box on the back of a truck cause fault codes ;) ? |
look like the reserve has been met

Wow, $23,580! Sold! For that low of a price it should be able to be fixed up pretty well. Yes, Don is correct. Why would a conversion make faults show up? Sounds like bull to me. I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage on it though. Most Detroit 60's are good for almost 1m miles aren't they? Biggest thing I would worry about is Cranky Ape. My buddy is a car dealer. One man operation. He bought a Malibu from Cranky Ape up here in MN last month. Thing was actually in a severe front end collision that the seller fixed up the damage enough so it didn't show. But hid a bunch of stuff. Like 4 missing air bags!! My buddy got screwed. Learned an important lesson, have to go check it out BEFORE bidding. Had he gone down to the lot to look he would have spotted those items and not bought it. Oh well. I hope the buyer of this rig joins this forum, as well as our Facebook group: Truck Conversion Motorhomes.

You want to change out the Bull gear (The bearings can fail.) at maximum of 700,000 miles.
I personally have overhauled early Series 60 (1992-1995) with 1.2 to 1.4 million miles. Bearings still looked great and all inside parts were still working with no issues. Biggest concern and this is for any diesel engine, is proper cooling system maintenance. Keep up on the Nitrates and change the coolant...Its a lot cheaper than cylinder liners or counter bore repairs. |
