I still remember the time when I passed a Gendarmerie (Sherif) on the Autobahn in Austria with his lights and siren on. But then again at that time cops still used VW beetle and passat and i drove a BLMC Rover, and there was no law yet against dusting a cop. lol Bet time has changed...
Just make sure when you pull your Pete in the fast lane to use your turn signal, drivers might not see you otherwise
