This sort of thing has been going on for years. Many of the Trucking companies tag all of the equipment in a friendly state. We tag all our trailers in NJ with a permanent plate and no Sales tax. Tractors are tagged in Virginia for me with the apportioned plate to be legal here but my Motorhome is tagged in Montana. Bill is correct it saved me a ton in sales tax and property tax(rent to the goverenment).
