    sorry i missed this message. the brake laws only apply to TRAILERS, I pulled the jeep 10s of 1000's of miles an never had a supplemental brake system.

    i picked up a blu-ox aventa (aluminum) tow bar on craigs list for about $300 - the guy even had (jeep/frame) base plates that he thru in the deal.

    i damaged the tow bar (wasn't towing, should have removed the bar) thought it was locked down good enough....and i dragged it briefly...the parts aren't available, so i HUNTED on craigslist and bought another roadmaster 6000? tow bar for 100 bucks...in fact i bought TWO....cause i had deals going....the 2nd one i paid $70 for.

    Just curious about what you use to tow bar your jeep wrangler, is a brake box necessary? I know according to the law your supposed to have it. What do you use, or recommend? My wife has a 14 Sahara that I may want to flat tow.
