Best builder truck to start on that I have seen yet
Just came across this on Racing Junk posted today:
2000 Freightliner FL70 For Sale I'm going to make an educated guess and say that is an old satellite truck like the networks used. That huge flatbed is perfect to simply build your box on top of, lower tool boxes are already there. Strip out all the electrical panels and hardware and you've got the box done, just add interior. Got a huge generator already installed. Running the engine to power the generator might be a bit much for camping, but great to run tools, compressor etc. in race pits. Hey #90, this one is right up your alley! |
Still brainstorming... I could just lop that thing off behind the back axle, add a gooseneck, throw a bed and a shower in the box and I'm in business!

Wow!
That seems like a lot of truck for the $$$.
|
seems like it will be underpowered if you plan on towing much

25kw.......:eek::eek::eek:
OK it's a PTO, still, I could power the house during a blackout! Seriously, this engine has a LOT of hours on it, as it ran for 300+K miles, AND it ran when it got there to generate the juice. |
I think it is lots of truck for the money, especially for what we want it for! With that PTO generator, I could plug 10 guys in at the track and pay for the weekend!
Engine probably does have lots of hours. But if those were loafing hours ... how does that wear on the engine? What is the leveling system worth? |
