Looking for insurance

Getting a toter home next week, anyone know who might insure it? Was told by Gilbert that insurance was $335.00 a year but now that I am buying it jumped up to $755.00. It is classified as an rv, what gives?

Check with Eric at Blue Sky RV Insurance. (sales@blueskyrvinsurance.com) From those that I have checked, they seem to be the most reasonable . I had a similar expericence with Gilbert, went from around $600 per year to $1150 per year. My toter isn't finished yet so I am still searching. Let us know what you find.

Mine is under construction as well. I have state farm. The agent wasn't real sure what I was up to so he had me bring it in for pictures. Since it was just a cab chassis at the time, he was able to skip anything commercial, and basically it is just rated the same as a pickup truck with the appropriate blue book value, I think it was $237 per half. Once I finish the RV conversion he says bring it back in and they will take more photos and write a new policy as an RV. Keep receipts to establish value. We did not get down to price as it is not that far along yet, but he did not think it would be difficult or expensive.

I had googled rv/toter insurance and called Bluesky. Eric was helpfull and was able to get it for the $500 range. Thanks for the replies.

I insured mine with Foremost. 94 TopKick/S&S motorhome. If I remember correctly, I'm in the $700/year range.

the (state of) Texas Insurance regulation granted all insurance companies an increase...and the increase nearly doubled our policy cost. I've since moved to Allstate (who also insures our other vehicles).
