This is what they are using on some boats, click here.

A large table in the center that has sides that fold down so when the table is not in use, you can walk by it.

Ideally the table would lower thereby making the larger couch section a double sleeper and the right side a single sleeper.

It seems to be a good idea rather than the diner and couch layout. Everyone would have a table to eat at.

What do you think? Good or bad idea?

.....two people in the double and one in the single....not an ideal layout .....I'd pass on that one. Suggestion:.....two singles or two doubles......no one gets the short end of the stick.....kids would make it worse as there would be a fight about who had the single and who slept with little brother[forget that!].....boats are very difficult to design with family's in mind in the production world.....no matter what- they don't quite fit for a long time and the idea is to trade up and go larger.......boat manufactures know thins BTW and make it impossible to find just the right boat-IMO. That tis why I'm no longer in the boat yard business and the hours necessary to run one on the river....geofkaye

Let's say you make both sides either double or single sleepers.

I'm curious of what you think of the layout where everyone can have a table to eat, write, play games... as compared to the diner with a table and a couch with no table.
