Update on my GN toter overweight front axle.
Over the last 5 months I've been fortunate to make solid progress on my trailer I'm building. Today I put a car, golfcart, and tools inside and headed to the scales. I moved the ball back 22.5" to try and get more weight off the front which was approx. 2K over weight. I also put new front tires on the old 8.250" rims that are 295/75 rated at 7930# each. After scaling, I have lightened the front by 800#'s. I still believe I will move the generator and batteries behind the rear axle, as I still have lots of capacity at a current 16560 drive axle weight

Good looking setup! What did your front axle weigh?

I weighed it with an empty 38' GN (the one in the pic before I tore it down to rails and built the stacker) and the front was 15500, rear was 15000, and trailer was 5K. Today, with the trailer partially loaded, it was 14700 front, 16500 rear, and 10K trailer.
