Default Vehicle Inspection Pros

I was looking at ads for class 8 trucks and found one I really like. The same ad has a link to Vehicle Inspection Pros. They say they will inspect a truck on site for $149. Has anyone used them? Is this money well spent or should I try to have the truck inpsected by a dealer? I don't know enough about class 8 trucks to be able to determine whether one is a good deal or a maintenance nightmare waiting to happen.

Default inspection

I would think $149. is a small amount to spend for a good inspection. I don't know what is included for that amount. I had my brother test drive my truck (1982 Pete with 13 speed) and he was impressed with how good the transmission felt. a few months later I had the transmission serviced and found that it had lots of metal in the oil. That imspection might have saved me some big bucks. If something large is found, you walk away just out $149. If a number of small things are found you might be able to use that info to lower the price. Even if you get a clean inspection that does not mean everything is going to work for a long time. That is the nature of big trucks. Good luck Kenn

i would think a good dealer or repair shop would inspect just a tractor for same price or less. only thing is you would have to take it to them. but that also gives you a road test your self. we charge 1 hour ($75.00) for inspection in our shop and we also scan computer . if you want samples drained from trans & diffs its 1/2 hr more.
tell us more specs. on truck and we can let you know good and bad about it.
