Tall Closets
 

My wife is short and she has a terrible time with hanging clothes and taking them down, I tried a step stool but it's to wide. I was thinking of a pole with a wire on the end? What do you guys use?

How about re-mounting the rods lower and then fabricating a shelf above to use that space?

Thanks bob, but if I lower the rods enough to reach them better then the clothes are on the bottom, and then the shelf idea, well even I would need a ladder then.

They have exactly those poles commercially available, they are used in clothing stores for the upper rack.

I know I've seen heavier versions used in stores.
