Is the price description listed below accurate where it says it would cost "3 times as much new"?

For example, it is being listed for sale at $170k. If you mulitply that times 3, you get $490k. Is $490k an accurate price of what it would cost today?

2001, 43' NRC conversion, built on a new Columbia Century Class, 550hp, 12 speed automatic transmission, currently 28k miles, every option available added.

I get $510k and no it's not real. Same setup today in a Haulmark on a Coronado chassis no more than $250k.

Easily under 250K, 3 years ago we walked into ours for 150K. BRAND NEW. So he is smoking something. That is a good price though forthe unit.

He's also not measuring it the same as most companies measure theirs, it's the same length as my Haulmark if it's 43" overall length but I'm still on a 32' floorplan and call it a 32' Haulmark.

How would you come up with $250k to build a similar unit?

Would that be something like $100k for the new Freightliner Columbia chassis and $150k or so for stretching the frame and the cabin conversion portion?

Do you folks know of websites where they list build prices of trucks and conversions? It's sort of a mystery that nobody discusses openly.

And for the math error, 2 years of pre school, 8 years of grammar school, 4 years of high school, and then add 5-6-7-8-9-10 years plus of college and I still can't multiply 17 x 3 in my head and get it accurate. I did it by multiplying 15 x 3 which equals 45 and then I added 2 plus 1 plus 1? What was I thinking or smoking? https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...n_rolleyes.gif

Well, I just bought a 2007 Haulmark, Columbia chassis, twin screw for $220k. So, add in the few extras this one has that I do not (although I have a rear slide and the washer dryer prep just not the appliance) and guess what, still under $250k.

oh yeah, I do 3 x 10 and then 3 x 7, easier for me https://www.truckhome.com/infopop/emo...on_biggrin.gif
