Need some input on a Allison auto tran's swap ?
 

I have a COE IH 9600 with a 350 Big Can IV and a 9 speed. Wife will not drive it. Its the double clutching thing.

The motor is a SAE 1 bell housing. What Allison should I look for ?

Total weight will be around 20,000 # for the RV and maybe pull something in the 20,000# range +-.

Motor has 325 Hp. and 1150 Tq at 1300 rpm.

I'm thinking a 4000 Allison but have "no" experience with this. What converter ? Lock-up no lock-up ? 5 speed ,6 speed ?

Let me know ! Or give me a person to bounce this off of ?

I think a M3000 6-speed will do all you need. It is rated to 400+ hp and 1200 lb-ft. Give your local Allison shop a call and they can help you out. I have had good luck picking their brain on a past project.
