I'm trying to get an idea of how much a converison weighs, how much they can carry and their GVWR (Gross vehicle weight rating) and how long conversions are?
For clarity, please include what you can, estimates are fine and you can always edit it later: 1. length of truck with conversion or length of conversion only, two or three axle. 2. GVWR. (Gross vehicle weight rating) and GCWR (Gross combinded weight rating) 3. weight of conversion empty 4. weight of conversion with fuel and water 5. differnce between GVWR and wet weight which would give you cargo carrying capacity (CCC). 6. picture link. 7. anything else important. There are four ratios, including overdrive. Overdrive is just another ratio, except it is less than 1:1.
There is also a locking torque converter, and when it locks it feels like a shift, so you may feel four shifts. And yes, I used to post at TheDieselStop. |

length of conversion 28' gross vehcile weight 38,000 weight with full fuel & water 31'000 2006 haulmark with two slides 200 gals water and 130 gals fuel 10,000 watt gen loaded ready to go. gross combined is 78,000lbs. is a freightliner columbia with 450hp and 12 speed auto. if i run at 60 to 65 gets 9 mpg towing 10,000lbs if i run at 75 mpg it gets 7 mpg. |
1. 46' bumper to bumper, 3 axle
2. 54 000 lbs. 4. with water (200 gal) fuel (150 gal), propane, 2 people, 2 dirt bikes, golf cart, tool box, etc. (everything for a week long event) we weighed in at 37,400#. 5. CCC= 16-18000 lbs...cant exactly remember. we are getting 10-11 mpg doing 65mph, with a MBE 450 HP. (oh, thats a candian gallon by the way, our gallon is 20% bigger, so its about 9 US mpg.) |
