We are starting to plan a new Barn and I am going to include a space to park the motorhome and trailer. So I am looking for height and length ideas. My current hauler is just under 36 feet long and 11' 6" tall. Does a 12 foot door for the garage seem reasonable or is mine small compared to whats on the market now. The same goes for the length. The barn will be 38 foot deep. I like my current layout but what would be an average length for the conversion motorhomes out there now. If 36 feet is small and 12 foot shorter than average then I need to plan bigger.
Thanks

Plan bigger, Mac. Class 8 based rvs easily get 12 to 13 feet tall and one with a garage or 5th wheel hook up get out to and beyond 40 feet long, especially with generous living space. Maybe you can save some barn length if the barn and door will allow side by side parking of the trailer and the pulling rig if that is what you are going with.

Best.

Personally I'd pick overbuilt with room for expansion. I'd do a 14' door and 50' long.

We are 13' 4" tall if that helps you.

Thanks for the replies. Your feed back is of particular importance since it would appear I am shorter than average. The barn will be built for side by side parking of the trailer and motorhome. So I only need to clear the longest part. I would love to build in excess but the budget dictates some limits. Although I will have to go bigger than I am planning now.
Anyone else length and height?
Thanks
Mat

we're 12' 4" and 39" 6". i'd also recommend that the door be at least 14' wide. --- mase
