I have a T300 1998 Kenworth with the 8.3 Cummins, it is 300hp, has a 9spd Eaton. The engine is none electric.
What kind of exhaust brake can I use on this.
I was told that a Jake would not work on my truck. Then I was told it would. Then I heard of a Pac Brake is tied in the exhaust system.
Any help would be appreciated.

PBARR;
Check out www.drivetrain.com/exhaustbrake.html there is some info on exhaust brakes for the smaller Cummins there.

Not sure about the non electric part, but I put a pac brake on my M11 Cummins. (saved big bucks over a jake) Most will tell you that you do not need this due to the lite weights, but it sure does give you peice of mind on those big grades. Not to long after I had it installed I hit a big grade (I think 14% very, very steep) heading to a campground near Cooks forest in Pa and I am damn glad I had that exhaust brake. Took it in 7th and only touched th brakes once. My brakes would have been smokin if I had to ride down that hill.
