blind rivets

Has anyone used a rivet called shaveable bulb-tite? I found them online at Jay-cee sales and rivets. They say it is a blind rivet that leaves a short mandrel that is cut off and then you use a tool called a rivet head shaver ($225) in a hand drill and you shave the rivet. They clame it looks just like a solid truck body rivet. The rivets go for around $40.00 per 100 but the tool is $225. I plan to use many rivets and would like to know if they work.

I have used a rivet shaver - it makes a nice finish and Olympic (bulb-tite) rivets in my Airstream. It also has a replaceable bit. You can find them a little more cheaply here at Vintage trailer supply Blind Pop Riveting

You might also check Welcome To The Yard in Wichita, Ks, . . .they carry a large inventory of new & used riviting tools, . . .if you don't see what you want on their website, . . .give them a call, . . .they have lots more that isn't listed.

Janet and Bob, thanks a bunch for the web sites. I ordered from rivets from one and clecos from the other. Lots of good stuff on both sites. Thanks again Kenn
