I wish I was as far along as you are. I can't even buy a truck until next spring, no place to park it. I like the look of your truck. I'm planning to do something similar with mine. I like the tandems and twin stacks.

Some questions for you; I noticed the fuel tanks tuck nicely under the cab. What size tanks are they? What's your wheelbase? Box length? I think I'm going to want about a 24' box, but don't want to extend past the rear tires more than ~6'.

....Travis....keep us posted.....I appreciate a "Home made" unite more than a factory unite.....but then again -that's just me....keep up the work and the pix....great work-though you seem to be well equipped for anything....geofkaye

Gypsy -
Thanks for the kind words. The tanks are 70 gallons each, wb is 265" to the front tandem, and the box length is 28 feet. The box in this configuration overhangs the back tires approximately 6'6". We bought the truck from a friend who had already had the frame stretched in the middle....the people that did the work did an excellent job; when we had it aligned, the rear axles were dead on. The reinforcements that are bolted into the frame extend about 3 feet from each end of the splice. We added another 5 feet onto the rear, and we were done.

Geof - I'll keep posting pictures of everything as I do it. I build race cars for a living, so I'm lucky in that my boss lets me use the shop for anything I need. The space sure helps!!! I'm ready to get this thing trimmed out on the outside and start to work on the inside. Take care, and I'll post again soon.....

What happened to the pictures? Thanks!

Yes, I'd like to see them too. Guessing he posted links to them and those have expired/changed/died. I'm betting he's changed his e-mail too so isn't getting notices that we want an update.
