if you cut the back off a school bus, moved it ahead 10' and left a deck out back to stack 4 sleds, you'd have a pretty good sled hauler.. the buses are designed to get kids to school on all kinds of nasty roads. with the sleds hanging behind he rear axle there will be lots of leveraged weight on the drivers and she will go though all kinds of snow.
If not they have big ass tow hooks on them to get you yanked out..

I've seen schoolies converted to haul dirt race cars so sleds would work too.

A real die hard goup of sledders would put a roll up door on the back of a gutted school bus then run the sleds in all the way to the drivers seat. then the riders just sit on the sleds all the way to the mountains..
